Oxter Plate
An Oxter Plate is a metal plate that is fitted to the side of a ship's hull to reinforce and provide additional strength to the area where the hull and the wing tanks meet. The wing tanks are compartments located at the sides of a ship's hull that are used for storing fuel or ballast water. The Oxter Plate is designed to prevent cracking and other forms of damage that can occur due to the stress and pressure placed on the hull and wing tanks during rough seas or heavy cargo loads. It is an important component of a ship's structural integrity and helps to ensure the safety of the vessel and its crew.
