DWAT (or DWT)
Deadweight tonnage (DWT) is the total weight of cargo, fuel, provisions, water, stores, and crew that a ship can carry when loaded to its maximum draft as per the International Convention on Tonnage Measurement of Ships. It is the difference between the displacement of a ship in water when it is empty and when it is loaded to its maximum draft. Deadweight tonnage is an important metric for determining a ship's carrying capacity and is used to calculate various fees and taxes related to shipping.
