Centre Of Gravity (CG)

Centre of Gravity (CG) is the point on a vessel where the weight of the vessel is considered to be concentrated. It is the point where the vessel would balance if it were suspended at that point. The position of the CG is important in determining the stability of the vessel. If the CG is too high, the vessel will be unstable and prone to capsizing. If the CG is too low, the vessel will be stable but may be difficult to maneuver. The CG can be affected by the distribution of weight on the vessel, including cargo, fuel, and ballast.
